Whether you are religious or irreligious, there’s a beautiful, honest, relatable, and righteous sense of despair in the hymn, “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” (Thomas Andrew Dorsey, 1938).
It had become both an active prayer and a passive reminder to the point of meditation that the need to create was no longer expected pressure as much as it was a call to create something that was also meditative.
